Continue Reading →The Government identified security and justice reform as being key to the realization of peaceful, stable and progressive Somalia. Steps were taken to advance the implementation of the National Security Plan with the overall objective of establishing professionally trained, accountable and sustainable security organizations.
Somalia Security Sector Reform is one of the critical areas identified to be transformed on priority basis when the current government assumed office in early 2017 in order to help stabilize the country, eliminate domestic security threats and move it along a progressive trajectory.
Major achievements have since being made including the biometric registration of all SNA Forces which ensured all forces to be accounted for, their fitness and readiness as well as availability in their respective stations ascertained and each officer paid through his or her respective bank accounts directly from the Somali Central Bank Single Treasury Account.
